Business Year 2008
In spite of the international economic crisis in the second half of the year, employees of Greiner Bio-One International AG achieved a turnover of € 255.9 million. This is an increase of 6% compared to the previous year.

Both business divisions - Preanalytics and BioScience – were able to win new market shares with product solutions, whereby the Preanalytics division grew more strongly, gaining a growth in turnover of 8%. The BioScience division increased the turnover by 3%. Altogether, the turnover increased from € 241.8 million to € 255.9 million.
The total number of employees increased slightly. In December 2008, Greiner Bio-One employed 1338 people.
In 2008 the company invested in further expansion of the production capacities for the realisation of the global business strategy. In October 2008, the new VACUETTE® production facility was opened in Thailand. In July 2008 the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Upper Austrian factory took place in Rainbach. In spite of the growing investments, the cash flow remained practically the same.
